A policy renewal letter ‘sent in error’ has given national newspapers the opportunity to partake in one of their favourite activities – bashing insurance companies.

The policyholder in this case is Ron Jones, a 98-year-old Auschwitz survivor and volunteer poppy-seller, who says he is being “priced off the road” after receiving a renewal quote for £20,000
