AIG's Q4 2014 profits fell 67%

US insurer AIG's Q4 after tax profits declined to $655m (£426m) compared to $1.98bn a year earlier as the insurer missed analysts expectations.

AIG said results in Q4 included an "after-tax loss on extinguishment of debt of $824m" as new CEO Peter Hancock sought to "optimise" the insurer's funding profile by "replacing high-cost legacy debt
