Penny Black’s Insurance Week - 27 November

Towergate executive chairman Alastair Lyons told Penny this week that he was geared up for a half-marathon rather than a 100-metre sprint when asked how long the broker’s newly unveiled sale discussions would take.

An odd choice of distance, Penny thought – so why did Alastair opt for 12.1 miles? It turns out he has completed the distance before, but never further! “I wanted to choose a distance I knew I could complete,” he chortled to Penny. What about ambition, though, Alastair?
