Decline in policy numbers sees 5% GWP drop at DLG

Paul Geddes

Direct Line Group has seen gross written premiums fall across its motor and home books for the first nine months of 2014 largely attributed to reductions in in-force policies.

Overall, GWP from ongoing operations for the first nine months of 2014 dropped 5% from the same period last year to £2.3bn (2013: £2.5bn). GWP for ongoing operations in the third quarter fell by 4.2%
