IBA urges passporting rethink in wake of Setanta collapse

The Irish Brokers Association has written to Ireland’s Finance Ministry, raising concerns about inadequate regulation in the lead-up to the collapse of Malta-based motor insurer Setanta Insurance.
Setanta had 75 000 Irish policyholders when it began winding down its business in January before revealing at its AGM in April that a solvent run-off would not be possible.
In a strongly worded letter
