AIG sells aircraft leasing unit for $5.4bn

AIG has sold its aircraft leasing unit International Lease Finance Corp to Dutch leasing company AerCap for $5.4bn.

In order to complete the deal, AerCap will pay AIG $3bn in cash and handover 96.6m shares or a 46% stake in the company worth $2.4bn.

AIG said the sale marked the disposal of its last non-core asset
