Insurance losses won't top $100m in the Philippines, says Eqecat

As a result of low insurance penetration in the disaster struck areas of the Philippines from typhoon Haiyan, the insurance bill is not expected to be more than $100m according to catastrophe risk modelists Eqecat.

Despite being regiestered as the strongest storm ever to make landfall, insurance cliams are unlikely to climb ablove $100m as the areas are not highly industrialised and have low insurance
