China Taiping premiums climb 61% in first half

Chinese insurer China Taiping's premiums increased almost 60.8% to HK$50.5bn in the first half of the year.

However, net profits decreased 3.5% to HK$518m. China Taiping is the seventh largest life insurer in China and the eighth largest property and casualty insurer.
