Foil boss expects 'plebgate' ruling to spark influx of satellite litigation

The Court of Appeal’s decision to refuse relief from sanctions to lawyers representing Andrew Mitchell MP in his libel action over The Sun’s ‘plebgate’ story could trigger a wave of satellite professional negligence cases, a leading insurance lawyer has warned.

Master of the Rolls Lord Dyson said that overturning the costs appeal would be a "major setback" in the bid to bring about a change in culture following the Jackson reforms.
