What was your first ever job – and were you any good at it?
Hairdresser to the stars (Princess Di to name drop if I have to). My wife says I’m better at gardening these days

I used to act and sing at the Edinburgh festival with Jude Law

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Treat others how you would like to be treated – it’s the golden rule

What would be your chosen superpower?
Petrolman. No need to stand cold and bored at service stations filling up: Petrolman just looks at the petrol gauge and it rises

If you could be Prime Minister for the day, what change would you instigate and why?
I would change all laws that extremists in the UK have human rights; they should have no rights whatsoever once they try to harm our people or country

How would a typical school report about you read?
Tim is a bright boy with good common sense. However, Tim is more interested in showing off and acting the class fool

My top tip for climbing the insurance career ladder is…
Be 100% immersed in the insurance industry, not just your field

What’s the most annoying thing people do in your office?
As in most offices: air con on, air con off, on, off…

Spaghetti bolognaise with veal Milanese

Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My wife (more brownie points)

When I’m not working I like to…
Be with my wife and five-month-old baby, play golf and poker, and drink fine wine (not all at the same time)

A Premier League footballer

If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
To the 1960s or early 1970s: music and great parties

Winning Surge Supplier of the Year and seeing one of our employees nominated for Young Achiever of the Year at the British Insurance Awards – a very proud moment
