Insurers warn of Christmas car crashes

According to Axa there has been a 45% rise in accidents between 20 and 24 December over the past two years compared with the rest of December, meaning up to 56 000 drivers could be involved in a collision during this period.

December is the worst month of the year for car accidents, with 23 December singled out as the worst day to travel.

During the snow of last December (17th and 18th), accidents rose by 124% compared
