Assurant Solutions names European chief marketing officer

Heading up the European sales and marketing function, Mr Unterreiner will focus efforts into three key growth categories: wireless, extended warranty and creditor business.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Unterreiner says: "In addition to a focused approach to product lines, we will employ a very deliberate approach to prospects, ensuring we partner with those for whom we can deliver the most value, and ultimately benefit the end-consumer."

Mr Unterreiner joins the business from Assurant Solutions' Atlanta office in the United States, where he was vice president, strategic business development in the extended protection solutions division. He succeeds Martin Jenns who will be returning to the United States following his two-year secondment to the European business unit.

Assurant Solutions introduced a new centralised European operating structure in January 2010, linking the central management of its businesses in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany and Italy with a common infrastructure.
