Regulatory capital framework proposed for Takaful insurers is ‘credit positive’

At its sixth annual Takaful Conference this week in Dubai, the Islamic Financial Services Bond discussed its exposure draft for regulatory capital requirements for Islamic compliant insurers.

The proposals, if adopted by national regulators, would lead to a “stronger risk-based capital framework and improved governance and risk management guidelines”, and would be “positive for the credit
