Re AC steps closer to relaunch
Reinsurance Australia Corporation (Re AC) has announced that the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has removed the directions which were imposed on Re AC when the Company went into run-off in 2000. This follows the completion of APRA’s investigation into the affairs of Re AC since 2000 and results in the finalisation of the appointment of APRA’s Inspector.
Re AC also announced that APRA has given approval for Re AC to inject $40m into its proposed general insurance operation, which will be conducted through a wholly-owned, separately licensed subsidiaryOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
