McManus lands Willis Limited CEO role

Willis has confirmed the appointment of Brendan McManus to CEO of Willis Limited. He will take on the job in addition to his role as CEO, Willis UK & Ireland.

In a further appointment, Rodney Baker-Bates will join its Board as an independent non-executive chairman, subject to the usual regulatory approvals from the Financial Services Authority.

Mr Baker-Bates and Mr McManus will succeed the previous chairman and CEO of Willis Limited, David Margrett, who was recently named CEO, Willis International.

Mr Baker-Bates has previously worked for Glyn Mills & Co, Arthur Andersen, Chase Manhattan Bank, Midland Bank, the BBC and Prudential.

Mr Baker-Bates also served as a non-executive director of C. Hoare & Co from 2000 - 2010.

He currently holds a number of other chairman and non-executive directorships in both publicly quoted and private companies.

Mr McManus has been CEO of Willis UK & Ireland since 2007 when he joined the Willis Group following a 20-year career at RSA.

He was appointed as a director of Willis Limited in 2008 and is also currently a Board member of the British Insurance Brokers' Association.

Government to consult on leasehold commission ban
