Car insurance costs rise by 3.8%

The results of the first quarter 2011 Confused and Towers Watson car insurance price index has shown that the average price of a comprehensive car insurance policy rose by 3.8% in the first three months of 2011, compared to 7.1% in the final quarter of 2010.

As a result of this the annual rate of increase has dropped for the first time since the middle of 2008 to 35.7%.
