Claims down 15% in Q2 as benign winter sees weather losses plummet

The total number of claims dealt with by the insurance industry in the second quarter of 2015 fell by 15% to 311,000, according to figures produced by the Association of British Insurers.

The reduction from 366,000 in Q2 2014 coincides with a £52m decrease in the value property claims, which fell from £892m to £840 over the course of 12 months.
