Self-driving cars could be on the road ‘next year’ under government plans

The government has pledged £100m to “revolutionise travel” and see automated vehicles on the road by 2025, but some vehicles with self-driving features could be operating on motorways within the next year.

The new government plans, which are designed to prioritise safety through new laws, will create an estimated 38,000 jobs in the UK.
